1,5-Diphenylcarbazone is a laboratory chemical which is used for colorimetric determination of osmium and chromium. This chemical is also required to detect the presence of magnesium, mercury, cadmium and aldehydes. This chemical shows sensitivity when exposed to light and air. It tends to dilute in C2H5OH, acetone and glacial acetic acid. It slightly dissolves in water. Melting point of this chemical ranges between 170 degree C to 176 degree centigrade. This chemical needs to be stored under nitrogen filled environment.
